Our client, an international energy project management company, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will be responsible for leading and overseeing the operational aspects of project development, including regulatory compliance, right of way issues, and key logistical aspects, among others.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the operational aspects of project development for energy plants, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, logistics coordination, project finance management, right of way, and other critical areas.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize plant operations and project execution, aligning with client requirements and industry standards.
- Oversee the permitting process to ensure all necessary licenses and approvals are obtained on time, minimizing delays in project schedules.
- Coordinate with project development teams to manage the logistics and supply chain needs of energy plants, including equipment procurement, transportation, and site management.
- Support the CFO in managing the financial aspects of project development, including budget control, cost optimization, and reporting, ensuring the profitability and financial health of projects.
- Ensure efficient and safe operation of energy plants by developing, implementing, and monitoring operational policies and procedures.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to support the successful execution of project development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and teamwork.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, regulators, and partners, to ensure alignment with project goals and smooth execution.
- Identify risks and opportunities related to project development and recommend solutions to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate potential challenges.
Profile Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Civil Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in operations within the energy sector or similar industries.
- Experience in project development departments within the energy sector, with a focus on operational oversight.
- Proven experience in managing logistics, regulatory compliance, project finance management, and right of way for energy projects.
- Knowledge of energy sector regulations, trends, and best practices, particularly in the context of plant development and operations.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and project management tools.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects.
- Ability to make data-driven strategic decisions under pressure.
- Advanced proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and negotiation skills.
